
300% Increase In Plant-Based Consumption In 12 Months According To Report
Foodable Labs, a food industry insight company has released a new report which shows that plant-based consumption as increased an incredible 300% over the last 12 months.
The organization has claimed that the movement is now in full swing, with a growing number of restaurants and companies beginning to take notice. As more and more consumers are leaning towards plant-based options, more than half of chefs (51%) adding vegan items to their menus to keep up with the trend,

But it’s not just chefs that are noticing the trend among consumers and producers of plant-based foods have seen the increase in the demand for their products, (just trying to get some Beyond Burgers at the store is like winning the lottery).
In the UK, takeaway service Just Eat has shown a growth in the demand for more vegan options of 987% over the last 12 months. The company had previously predicted that going vegan would be the biggest food trend of 2018, and it looks like they were right.
The growing demand for plant-based options has even extended to meal delivery services, showing that the consumer driven food industry is changing rapidly.
