All-Day Vegan Festival To Hit Halifax This Weekend
Halifax, Nova Scotia will be hit with its fourth ever vegan festival this weekend — an all-day event welcoming vegans and nonvegans alike.
Halifax VegFest — organized by volunteers from the city’s small but lively plant-based community — will include a number of vendors, speakers, and a live cooking demo where two top chefs from nonvegan restaurants will try their hands in the plant-based sphere.
Food and drinks on offer will include baked goods from WildLeek, coffee from fire truck turned coffee shop Frankie’s Espresso Bar, smoothie bowls from Bliss Bowl, and kombucha from Nova Scotian brand Goodmore.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 22, at the Halifax Forum Multipurpose Room, with a suggested donation of $5 (CAD) — but is pay-what-you-can, and no one will be turned away.

All-Star Vegan Podcast Lineup
This year’s public speakers both come from highly praised vegan podcasts. Included on the roster will be Andy Tabar and Paul Stellar from The Bearded Vegans, and podcasters Callie and Nichole from Vegan Warrior Princesses Attack.

Vegan Festival After Party
The festival will also be followed by an after party, hosted by local vegan-friendly bar and restaurant Foggy Goggle. Tickets — which can be purchased in advance for $30 (CAD) — include entry, one drink ticket, and a number of snacks and appetizers made on the spot.
