Boost Your Milk Supply With This Lactation-Promoting Smoothie
You’ve probably heard of lactation cookies, but let’s face it — as a new mom, you likely lack the time and energy to be baking anything at all.
Between diaper changes, caring for your family’s newest addition, and countless nights of insufficient sleep, it might seem a bit… much. We get it. That’s why we’ve brought you the lactation smoothie, a quick and easy route to boosting your milk supply.
It is hydrating, delicious, and includes galactogogues oatmeal and brewer’s yeast, both of which are believed to boost lactating mammals’ milk supply.
Easy Lactation Smoothie
250 ml coconut water
150 ml almond milk
1/2 tsp brewer’s yeast (debittered)
1/2 cup oats
1 tsp cacao / cocoa
1/2 tsp chia seeds
1 tsp almond butter
1/2 cup crushed ice
- Soak oats in coconut water for about 10 minutes. This will soften them for blending, which is is especially important if you don’t have a high-speed blender.
