Date Night After A Baby. Why It’s Important.

by | February 19, 2018

Hi, I’m Lynda! I’m a new vegan mommy of one baby boy. I became vegan a few months pre-pregnancy, and am currently raising my son as Vegan. I hope to inspire other mama’s through my love for writing about veganism. Aside from being a mommy and writer, I also have a love for fitness. I’m a Pilates instructor who loves Yoga, hiking and weight lifting. You can follow my vegan mommy journey on Instagram @theplantbasedmommy.

Dark circles under your eyes, hair up in a bun, laundry baskets overflowing, breast pump on your nightstand ready to go, burp cloths everywhere, and you can’t remember the last time you showered? THIS is why you need a night out!

As much as we love our babies and we just want to spend time with them, it’s important to step out of the house and have a change of scenery. No diapers, burp cloths, or laundry in sight!

Sounds amazing, right? Yes!

And if you’re afraid of agreeing, that’s what we call, Mom Guilt. It’s there and the struggle is real, but it’s completely doable.

Welcome to Mom Life!

Even though you’re a mom now, that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. You’re allowed to feel like your old self. All moms can agree that it’s hard to leave baby, especially when they’re newborns, but getting out of the house and enjoying yourself helps keep you sane; it helps you feel human again. Don’t worry if half of the clothes in your closet still doesn’t fit, just grab some maternity leggings, or anything that fits, and get ready for your night out.

Not only does date night help you feel like yourself again, but it also helps keep your relationship healthy. Mom and dad need time to themselves without having constant conversations about baby. Sometimes just a quick outing or even just spending time alone at home helps. It helps you reconnect with dad, and let him know that even though your focus is on baby, you still love and appreciate him. If anything, some moms think that seeing their husband, or loved one, caring for baby makes them love them even more.

So, call up grandma or your new sitter, grab your purse (not a diaper bag) and go out with your partner. Enjoy yourself! You deserve to have some fun!

Hmm is anyone else experiencing problems with the images on this blog loading?
I’m trying to determine if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.
