Dealing With Pregnancy Tiredness & How To Combat It

Pregnancy tiredness can be a very trying and exhausting period of your life but at the same time, it is quite a humbling experience. You are participating in the creation of a human life. You are carrying inside you a person who will change the world. Your belly is full of potential! There is nothing that can come close to comparing to the incredible wonder of pregnancy. So try to take time each day to sit back and appreciate it. Despite your aching back and swollen ankles.


Yet, pregnancy tiredness in the first trimester isn’t welcomed. Especially when you may have other little ones in the house, or a full time job to get to.



While we can’t do anything about the tiredness, we definitely have to know that we’re not at the same capacity pre pregnancy. So let those dishes sit for another few hours, and out your feet up.




While we can’t all afford a cleaner and personal chef to take care of everything. We can call on that friend who offered up a frozen meal, or a babysitting gig. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Especially during those first few weeks. We can always repay the favor if they need.




You’re growing another human, it’s exhausting! When your are near the point of falling asleep standing up. It’s time to take it easy, and go for a nap if you can. Your body is telling you that it is using every available resource for growing another human. Listen to it.




We wouldn’t dream of running a marathon without first fueling our bodies, and this is the longest marathon of your life. Keep that water bottle closer, and the bowl of spinach even closer.



When people used to tell me, ‘sleep now, before the baby gets here’. I would find myself gritting my teeth. However, it’s really true. If you find a spare twenty minuets, use it to sleep. While this is an exhausting time, it’s nothing compared to living on three hour stretches and being a human milking machine.

    This sentence needs a little reorganizing: “You are doing an amazing thing for your kids, the planet, and most importantly, the animals.”

    Animals should never be more important than our kids!

    That being said, keep up the good work helping vegan parents!

    Hi Shelbey. We never wanted to mean that animals are more important than our kids. Yet, in context, with eating animals, they are the more important in this scenario 🙂
