Doctors Ask The FDA To Promote Heart-Healthy Vegan Diet On Viagra Packaging

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) — a non-profit organization of doctors — has asked to see veganism promoted on viagra packaging.

The PCRM has urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to promote plant-based eating on the label for the erectile disfunction drug — a diet which is already known to boost cardiovascular health.

“A life-saving wake-up call”

“A prescription for Viagra should include a lifesaving wake-up call for men with ED to adopt a heart-healthy diet,” said Neal Barnard, MD, FACC, president of the PCRM.

“Erectile dysfunction is a sign of narrowed arteries throughout a man’s body, including the arteries to his heart and brain, putting him at high risk for heart attack, stroke, and death,” explained Barnard.

In a podcast released by the non-profit last year, doctors explained why vegetables should be the cure for erectile disfunction instead of viagra.

Best-selling vegan documentary The Game Changers — which launched globally on Netflix last year — supports the idea that plant-based food is better for erectile function.

In the film, urologist Dr Aaron Spitz compares the erections of three men when they switch to vegan meals from meat. The experiment revealed their erections lasted 300 to 500 percent longer in the absence of animal products.

“This is not a scientifically validated study, but the results that we’re seeing are very exciting,” said Spitz.
