Eating Vegan Like The Duchess Of Sussex
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has revealed she enjoys eating vegan.
Star of the show Suits, and the new Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has revealed she likes to eat a plant-based diet. Not only has she became royalty, she has also worked for the US Embassy in Buenos Aires and is an active member of the UN Women’s leadership program. Just when the world thought they couldn’t get enough of Meghan Markle, she told Best Health in an interview that she enjoys eating a plant-based diet.
So what does the Duchess of Sussex like to eat?
In her interview with Best Health, she admitted she loves French fries, stating “French fries – I could eat French fries all day. And I love pasta. Do I love carbs – who doesn’t love a carbohydrate? But of course, when I’m filming, I’m conscious of what I eat. I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends. But at the same time, it’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived. I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”
Who doesn’t love French fries? they are the staple of the vegan diet in eateries with no other options and are usually always a safe bet.
What about for breakfast?
She also revealed that her favorite breakfast food is, in fact, steel-cut oats and chopped bananas with agave syrup drizzled over the top, but she finds it easier to wake up with a warm lemon water. Oatmeal is a perfect breakfast, with fiber to keep you full, and the endless varieties of topping you can add to it such as cut fruit, sweeteners like agave or maple syrup, or even peanut butter for a boost of healthy fats in the mornings. Oatmeal also fits into a range of diets and lifestyle due to its versatility, whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, trying to manage diabetes or even trying to lose weight.
What does the Duchess of Sussex like to snack on?
In January 2018, Elite Daily reported that one of Markle’s favorite snacks was apple slices with almond butter and sea salt. Apples, being fiber-rich and packed with water, are the perfect pair with almond or peanut butter. Meghan has also told Delish in a previous interview that she has a special love of açaí berries.
For an afternoon snack, Meghan said she loves a nutrient-packed green smoothie. - Blend one frozen açaí packet with 1/3 cup of almond milk, 1/2 banana, a handful of frozen berries.

What about for dinner?
In a June 2012 interview with Today.com Markle said she enjoys to meal prep at the beginning of her week using quinoa that she adds sauteed vegetables to and seasons with crushed red pepper and fresh chopped herbs. Quinoa is a great source of protein and complete amino acids, which is perfect for busy moms who are always on the go.
The Duchess of Sussex advocates for healthy eating and tries to encourage a positive lifestyle. She has told Delish about her love of carbs stating “It gets such a bad rap.”
“However, when I’m traveling, I won’t miss an opportunity to try some great pasta,” said Markle. “I come back from vacation every year with a food baby, and I’ve named her Comida. I get to the set and I’m like, ‘Hey, Comida’s here, and she’s kicking.’”
