Get The Glow! The Best Vegan Highlighters

by | August 21, 2018

Luminous, dewy and radiant skin is one of the most requested looks I am asked to create for my clients. Just in time for Fashion Week, I wanted to share with you my favorite vegan highlighters glow-getters that I use both on photo shoots and for my private clients to help them shine in all the right places.

The proper skin care routine and skin preparation are of the utmost importance for creating a beautiful, natural glow. Highlighters look best on healthy, well-moisturized skin.
It’s important to exfoliate your skin with a gentle, natural product once or twice a week and to moisturize after for the best results.

My Go-To Vegan Highlighters

My two go-to oils to use under foundation, or to be mixed in with your base, are Edible Beauty’s Snowflower skin care Oil and Max&Me I Am The Light.
These two are wonderful skin care oils that create an instant glow without any glitter or shimmer. They are not makeup products but rather part of a skincare routine to help your skin look naturally radiant on its own.

Oils work best when used on damp skin, this helps to lock in additional moisture. are spritz your skin with a hydrating toner mist first then massage a few drops of oil onto your skin.
Usually, I will still work with additional highlighting products to create more luminosity.
They can be used together with foundation or on their own.

It is entirely possible to create a natural radiance with skincare alone, but sometimes you want a little extra oomph!

Luminous Angel Drops
A liquid vegan highlighters that comes with a dropper. It works especially well when mixed in with your liquid foundation and applied all over the face or dabbed onto the highpoints.
With it’s nourishing oil base, it’s a skincare/makeup hybrid.

Ere Perez Vanilla Highlighter
This one is a solid highlighting cream that works best on top of foundation, applied to the high points of the face. Use a multipurpose vegan makeup brush for application. It smells divinely of natural vanilla and creates a strong highlighting effect, it is a true makeup product.
There are two options available: a lighter, cooler shade and a deeper, warmer tone.

Luminous Angel Highlighting Crème
Luminous Angel is another makeup/skincare hybrid that I love for its multipurpose capabilities. This cream highlighter creates a bronzed glow and adds a touch of color. On already tanned skin it makes a fabulous highlighter for the high points of the face: the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow. Apply it after your foundation or moisturizer. Or, you can use it all over to warm up your skin tone. It works best when applied with one’s fingers.

Jane Iredale Contour KitThe most subtle and matte option on this list, this vegan highlighters contains no sparkle or glitter. It is a pressed powder makeup product that is best applied with a vegan makeup brush.
The kit consists of three colors: a highlighter, a blush, and a contour color, which can be used to create more definition. It is incredibly wearable on a day-to-day basis. It works well on oilier or problem skin as well as more mature skin. It is an amazing option for anyone who might want to avoid the shinier highlighting versions.
Be sure to choose the color set “Warm” for an entirely vegan version.

With a few simple steps and these awesome cruelty-free products, you can achieve a photo ready glow while staying true to your ethics.
