It’s important for children to have positive role models to look up to, people they can relate to. With veganism continuing to become more diverse, inclusive, and accessible with every year that passes, there is no shortage of wonderful people who can serve as positive influences in all of our lives. Here is my list of the coolest and most inspiring vegans of color.

Russell Simmons
Self-made entrepreneur and music producer Russell Simmons has been vegan since 1999 and has only continued to be outspoken about his cruelty-free lifestyle over the years. One of the most inspiring vegans of color and winner of PETA’s 2001 Humanitarian award, Simmons promotes all forms of equality.
Daniella Monet
Former Nickelodeon star Daniella Monet has been following a plant-based diet for a majority of her life. She’s worked multiple times with PETA, and has been successfully utilizing her social media influence to promote her vegan lifestyle.
