The brainchild of the Civic couples- The Vegan Outfitter, as the new retail outlet is called, opens at upstate New York. Although, it may not be supremely difficult to find cruelty-free outfits, shoes, and accessories in the Big Apple, nonetheless, having a dedicated store that stockpiles everything vegan, is indeed getting rain, without asking for clouds.
The couple, who’ve been vegans for as long as 27-years have had other cruelty-free entrepreneurial efforts as well. Like, they had a dedicated travel agency which provided vegans with traveling aids for vacations, according to media outlet The Record. It is also known that they ran a store that sold tough veganized leather goods. Now, their next venture is a whole new retail outlet.

The retail outlet sells all sorts of quality cruelty-free items under one roof. From shoes to clothing, and even fashion accessories like belts, wallets, jackets, and stuff, you can expect them all in the shop. Everything, sourced from ethical and vegan suppliers. The cruelty-free outfitter is located at 465 Fulton St. in downtown Troy and according to The Record, the same is first-in-kind in the area.
What’s best? The owners did research on all the items that are on sale in the shops, to make sure all of them are 100% cruelty-free. Moreover, they’re PETA approved too. With the prices, reportedly competitive to online sales, The shop will offer items made from cruelty-free materials like faux leather made of high-quality polyurethane, organic cotton, recycled materials, pineapple leaves, microfibers, and other exotic fabrications, that are environmentally safe. Jed Civic, co-owner, and the operator was quoted as saying-
“We’ve always been trying to promote veganism in some way, and we feel that the vegan community has grown enough so that it can support a business like this now.
“We feel that the items we carry are good quality and comparable in price to what other stores carry for leather goods.
“So the word vegan should not deter non-vegans from coming in to see what we have to offer.”
