London Pub To Release Vegan Superfood Stout
Just when we think we couldn’t love avocados any more, they’ve gone and made beer out of it. That’s right, a London pub is set to release a vegan superfood stout.
The Shoreditch-based Long Arm Pub and Brewery will serve a vegan avocado craft beer, named the Millennial Stout on tap. The guilt-free vegan superfood stout will be available at the Worship Street location from November 5th, to celebrate World Vegan Month. The Avocado Stout is brewed using dark malts combined with a creamy avocado flavor and aroma, and will be on sale for £5.50.

Long Arm Pub and Brewery is famous for its unique beers, and they pride themselves on recipes made without additives or chemicals. Even better — the brewery has a very low carbon footprint, because all beer is produced and consumed onsite. The pub offers a large selection of vegan food in addition to its vegan superfood stout, including a Vegan Platter that features four vegan sliders, Kentucky Fried Cauliflower, vegan nuggets, and chips and salsa.
Over the last few years, there’s been a surge in popularity for the avocado, because of its health benefits and creamy deliciousness. Long Arm has definitely hit one out of the park with this trend, so that this November you can enjoy a vegan superfood stout that tastes delicious, is friendly to the environment, and includes nice a dose vitamin C!

The press office for the pub says its unique dark malts have been “combined with a subtle creamy avocado flavor and aroma” of the creamy green fruit, with avocado being added just after the secondary fermentation. Don’t worry though, your mouth isn’t going to turn green, the stout will be an appetizing chocolate brown color.
Despite recent claims made by Great British Bake-Off and QI co-host Sandi Toksvig that avocados are not vegan, the green fruit is becoming an increasingly popular ingredient to a number of vegan delights. Avocado beer might be my favorite use of the fruit.

Last year, UK-based chocolate company Love Cocoa launched a vegan avocado chocolate bar, which uses freeze-dried avocado. London’s Avobar, founded last year as the city’s first all-avo, casual-dining concept, offers the Avo Bun Burger, which is a vegan burger served in between two sizeable avocado halves. Selfridges, a famous London store, has also launched a vegan avocado gelato.
