Petition Launched Against Ssoyoung — Mukang YouTuber Eating Animals Alive

by | April 9, 2020

A petition has been launched against YouTube channel 쏘영 Ssoyoung, which features YouTuber Choi Soo-young “torturing animals before eating them alive.”

Part of the popular Korea-born mukbang trend — which has YouTubers around the world broadcasting mealtime for online audiences — this channel features over 300 videos of its star eating various things, ranging from from gummy candy to still-moving sea creatures.

The petition against the YouTuber was launched on change.org by Paolo Wang.

“The Mukbang Youtuber ssoyoung is torturing animals before eating them alive,” reads the petition’s webpage.

“This is clearly animal abuse, and you don’t have to be a vegan to see that.”
