Sara Kidd left her eight-year-long career in show business to pursue a career in vegan baking. The rockabilly bake was once the Head of Acquisitions and Marketing at Indievillage, the production company behind the controversial documentary Kangaroo: A Love-Hate Story. Sara decided to trade in the glamor of show business for the sweetness of baking and launched her website, Vegan Cakes by Sara Kidd. The site is chock full of delicious vegan dessert recipes such as gluten-free mud cake cups with pear, coconut bundt cake, coconut cake with pineapple lemon filling, white chocaholic mud cake, and choc fudge cream cheeze cookie sandwich. The website also has a vegan bake club, where Sara hilariously asks fellow vegan bakers if they’ve joined her baking cult yet.

Sara has been vegan for fourteen years and has been a voice for animal rights activism. She says that her focus has always been on raising awareness towards veganism and animal rights. Sara says that animals are her friends, and as she’s a fiercely loyal friend, she doesn’t eat them. Sara’s last project in the showbiz world was Kangaroo: A Love-Hate Story that was released in early 2018. A wildly controversial and groundbreaking documentary about Australia’s love-hate relationship with the kangaroo, an Australian icon.
