STARBUCKS JUST DROPPED 2 NEW PLANT-BASED PROTEIN DRINKS & LIFE IS EPIC NOW

by | August 15, 2018

Can we just have a moment of silence for all those drive-through Starbucks, sleeping kids in the back, and the trapped moms in cars? Starbucks, always a friend to the vegan community just released a new plant-based protein drink, the Protein Blended Cold Brew, and the moms rejoiced!

Maybe it was just me, in my car, alone, as my kids slept. Still, plant-based protein coffee is here, and it’s epic.

The new plant-based drinks have two flavors, almond, and cacao, with just under three hundred calories, it’s not too shabby on the sugar scale either.

The plant-based protein drinks sound too good to be true. The almond mixes up the old cold brews with pea and rice protein and dates for that sweetness, while the cacao has coconut and dates. A healthy dose of ice in each, and who needs a social life anymore? It’s rocking in our house!

Starbucks has been ramping up their menu to suit a more plant-based lifestyle a lot lately, with one Reddit user spotting the Pumpkin Spice flavor a few days ago in the markets in Europe.

The growing number of consumers asking for vegan and vegetarian options is what has prompted Starbucks to make the changes to their menu. After all, they can only stay relevant if they continue to give the customers what they want, and they want plant-based protein drinks.

The summer saw the release of a number of vegan food options in the chains UK locations including a Kale, Jalapeno and Slaw Wrap, Vegan Chocolate and Raspberry cake, and a Mango and Lime Fruit Pot.
