The Official Animal Rights March London Hits 12,000 Attendees

by | August 19, 2019

The Official Animal Rights March (TOARM) in London broke its own record by hitting an estimated 12000 attendees on Saturday.

A post on the organization’s Facebook page celebrated the turnout.

“We did it. 12,000 of us. We took over the streets of central London,” it read.

“What an incredible day. We hope you all felt empowered, inspired and united.”

This year’s estimated count trumps last year’s by roughly 2000.

The event, which aims to bring to light the cruelty and indignities suffered by animals globally, is organized annually by Surge Activism and Animal Rebellion.

This year in London, activists organized a sit-in which blocked Trafalgar Square as part of the event. It also included speeches from a number of vegan activists, including Surge co-founder Ed Winters — otherwise known as Earthling Ed.
