You Can Now Get Frozen Avocados!

by | October 6, 2018

Stop the press! We have breaking news for lovers of all things avo-related. Welch’s, who specialize in frozen fruits and berries, have recently released bags of frozen avocados, which is an amazing game-changer for all of the avo-lovers everywhere.

Have you ever met a vegan (or a millennial for that matter) who isn’t obsessed with avocados? They make a perfect topping for toast, in salads or poke bowls, mashed as guacamole… They’re just too good. They’re such a hot topic that last year the fruit even became the center of a millennial finance controversy when Australian businessman Tim Gurner blamed them as the reason why millennials can’t afford houses

But despite being delicious, anyone who loves avocados can tell you just how frustrating they can be. They have a short shelf life and trying to figure out when they are ready to eat is a skill in itself. Plus, the inner flesh goes brown almost as soon as you expose it to the air, so if you only want half of an avocado, you may find yourself eating the whole thing just to avoid the waste, (they’re not cheap so it’s got to be done!)

In my personal experience, freezing avocados doesn’t work out too well, but somehow when someone else does it it’s a game-changer. These Welch’s frozen avocados are about to make your life a whole lot easier!

The Welch’s website describes the bags of frozen avocados as; “ripe-frozen so that they are always ready right when you need them. So convenient- not sliced, not diced, just perfectly hand-chunks and so versatile, they can be used in a variety of recipes like Poke bowls, dressings, sandwiches even desserts!!”
