Kat Von D; I Am Not A Nazi. I Am Not An Anti Vaxxer

Kat Von D took to YouTube with a beautifully executed, heart wrenching video to explain the story behind the recent rumors of being anti-Semitic and anti-vaccinations.

She just posted the video on Instagram with the below message:

As hard as it was for me to film this video I hope it brings some much-needed clarity — please watch until the end of the video – I read a little letter that I wrote to all those who’ve sent so much hate towards me and my family.  It would mean a lot if you listened through.

Lastly, I want to thank you ahead of time for understanding why I’ll be turning comments off on this post.  

I just want to promote positivity, and, unfortunately there are way too many trolls  out there who aren’t capable of having considerate conversations about topics like these.

In the first half of the video, she talks about her time on the set of the popular reality show, Miami Ink, and the adversity she faced as the only female on the cast. When a coworker began to feel threatened by her success and the rapidly rising ratings, he took to spreading rumors hoping to threaten her career. Unfortunately, these rumors of her being an anti-Semite spread across media outlets and are still impacting her life. The honesty and openness she shows in the video is truly empowering and incredibly brave.

The second part of the video focuses on the rumor that she and her husband are anti-vaxxers. She makes it clear that they are not against vaccinations rather, like most parents out there, they just want to be informed about what goes into their child’s body. As parents, we can all understand the internal struggle we all feel to make sure we’re doing what is best for our children.

The video wraps up with Kat Von D reading a letter to those who have made hurtful and hateful comments to her and her family. This call to action is not one of malice, but rather a reminder to be kind and respectful to everyone we encounter.
