by | October 2, 2019

Actor Madelaine Petsch shared a playful YouTube video of a successful attempt at plant-based banana bread this week.

The Riverdale star, known best for her role as Cheryl Blossom, shared the vegan recipe with 4.77 million subscribers, offering a plug for Sarah McMinn of My Darling Vegan, for the original recipe.

In the intro to the video, Petsch shared that while filming the first season of Riverdale, she ate banana bread so often that she had a recipe committed to memory.

“I would make loaves of banana bread every Sunday,” Petsch said.

“Then take two pieces with me to work.”

Petsch appeared in a campaign for peta2 early in 2018. In a video segment for it, she shared that she was raised vegetarian, and ditched dairy and eggs at the age of 14.

Over the past few years, Petsch has been open about her plant-based diet, claiming it plays a large role in maintaining her overall physical health and mental wellbeing.

“Being vegan keeps my body fueled and running smoothly,” she said, in a recent interview with People.

“Clean, non-processed foods, [help me to] avoid feeling fatigued on long workdays.”
