Petition Urges BBC To Air “Earthlings” And “Cowspiracy”

by | July 29, 2019

A petition started by Sarah Gate on Change.org urges the BBC to air vegan documentaries Earthlings and Cowspiracy.

In its description, Gate argues that, amidst a “climate emergency,” the broadcaster should air the documentaries — which highlight the effects of animal agriculture on animals, people, and the environment — to educate the public.

Gate acknowledges in her petition that both documentaries are available freely online, however she notes that people who seek out the documentaries online are those already considering becoming vegan.

“It’s time we stopped sharing our views with people who already agree with us and work towards reaching a wider audience of people,” Gate states.

Gate hopes that her petition will help the documentaries reach a mainstream audience so that viewers can make an informed choice about consuming animal products.
