Reviewing Disguise Cosmetics Products: Find Out Which One Aced Our List
Embracing cruelty-free living, I have always been on the search for 100% plant-based beauty products that aren’t tested on animals. Oblivious to the vegan beauty repertoire, I spent all my energy on minutely scrutinizing the ingredients list. This is why the news about Disguise Cosmetics was a pleasant surprise to me, as I came to know, there’s an Indian brand scaling up the ladders of the vegan beauty world. Besides the intriguing curiosity-raising brand name (written a mail to the founder- you might get to see the interview soon and hear the story behind the name itself), Disguise has a cute little products line. I got a chance to lay my hands on three of their products. Let’s see how they fared in my tryst with vegan beauty products!
Disguise Cosmetics Lipsticks- Blush Actress And Red Model
I am a lipstick junkie and the only thing I love more than food is opening a brand new lipstick, swatching it out and planning on which outfit it would suit perfectly. In fact, during my teen years, the biggest fights erupting between me and my sister always involved who-tried-whose lippie. I even had a secret stash hidden away so she isn’t able to sneak up to it. Now you have an idea of the lipstick aficionado I am and how important it is for me that they click well in all categories- cruelty-free, vegan, and performance.
And well, like the perfect way to make an amend for the teenage fights, we both (me and my sister) got to review the lipsticks. Here’s my take with her trying them on and swatching out for us.
The two shades we have reviewed are Blush Actress and Red Model. Disguise Cosmetics toxin free lipsticks are 100% vegan, lead-free, paraben free, and PETA certified. They are enriched with avocado and marula oil to help soothe lips.
Here are the single swipe swatches tried on hand.
This is a pretty nude rose shade that would flatter all skin tones. It is perfect for days you wish to get a muted all-natural minimal makeup look. I have seldom liked nude pink shades as they wash me out but this color goes well with my complexion. If you are aiming for bold smoky eyes and need a perfectly natural lipstick to balance the overall look, this Disguise Cosmetics lipstick in Blush Actress shade is great. I have loved MAC’s Mehr lipstick for the same reason and Blush Actress is a lot like it. Just loved it! Here’s how it looked on the lips (unedited no-filter pic with two swipes of the lipstick).
This is another pretty shade by Disguise Cosmetics. It has a satin creamy matte finish and is comfortable to wear. The shade would look stunning on medium to dusky skin tones. If you are someone who usually shies away from red lipsticks but would love to try one that isn’t too bold, Red Model is the shade you should opt for. Here is how it looks on the lips (no-filter picture with two swipes of the lipstick).
Over all verdict: The lipsticks are pigmented and even single swipe gives good color payoff. They don’t bleed or settle into fine lines.
Disguise Cosmetics Rainbow Glow Oil
This is a unique lightweight universal oil and is rightfully the star of the entire Disguise Cosmetics products line. The texture is so light and refreshing that I like to call it serum instead of oil. Made from almond, argan, avocado, jojoba, grapeseed, marula, and olive oil, Disguise’s rainbow ‘serum’ is one of those multi-taskers you can rely on for everyday beauty care regimen. I tried it as a serum for my towel dried hair and it worked like a charm. The multiple uses involve- using as a face serum, hair smoothening serum, rub on nails for the subtle shine and nourishment. I had a gel eyeliner on the verge of drying up and the Rainbow oil helped revive it too. If you would like to try Disguise Cosmetics product line and are looking for that one product, to begin with, this is it!
Which one of these products appealed to you? Looking forward to try them on? Let us know in the comments.
