Actor Camila Mendes — best known for her role as Veronica on hit show Riverdale — has taken to Instagram to encourage fans to adopt and foster animals amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“my cuddly lil quarantine companion,” it reads. “don’t know what i’d do without her. pls consider fostering a furry friend with all this time you’re spending at home! i adopted truffle from @thelabellefoundation in LA but you can just reach out to your local animal shelters and see how you can help”
The star also shared a video to her stories of herself and co-star Vanessa Morgan partying on a boat with a number of other individuals. It’s unclear whether the footage is from today.

Foster Animals & The COVID-19 Pandemic
Humans are not the only domesticated animals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shelter animals have also felt its effects.
While some shelters have asked the public for help amid dropping staff attendence and fears of surging drop-offs, others have seen a surge in adoptions by those stuck at home and seeking companionship.
