by | April 14, 2020

Meat alternative giant Beyond Meat has set out to serve a million meals to frontline workers, food banks and other organizations faced by COVID-19.

The brand announced the initiative in an Instagram post last week.

“We are dedicated to making sure those who need it most right now have access to a good, nourishing meal at no cost,” it reads.

“Our community of employees, ambassadors and friends are coming together to help us donate and distribute over 1 million Beyond Burgers to food banks, frontline workers and organizations in need.”

“Our goal has always been to use food as a vehicle for change, and we’re fortunate to be in a position to put that into action now like never before.”

Feeding Frontline Workers In The Face Of COVID-19

Since its first post, Beyond Meat has kept followers in the loop through its Instagram page.

In New York and Los Angeles, the brand has set up outposts with the help of a number of food security organizations, and has announced free delivery to frontline workers offered in partnership with Door Dash.

The most recent post showed a member of the Beyond Meat team delivering burgers topped with onions and pickles via a Beyond Meat-branded food truck.
