by | October 22, 2019

Heart surgeon turned comedian and television host, Bassem Youssef, has encouraged his millions of Instagram followers to try ditching dairy for ten days.

In a post on Instagram, Youssef explains that he has partnered with Switch4Good — an initiative led by vegan olympian Dotsie Bausch to “embolden people to take charge of their health by eliminating dairy.”

“I challenge you to ditch dairy for 10 days,” the vegan advocate wrote. “Come join me and tell me how you feel.”

Upon completion of the challenge, participants are asked to get five of their friends to sign up too.

Youssef has previously been listed among the “100 most influential people in the world” by Time magazine and boasts over 10 million followers on Twitter.

Benefits Of A Vegan Diet

The Switch4Good website explains how those who ditch dairy can “expect to experience increased energy, less bloating, improved digestion, clearer skin, reduced asthma symptoms, less inflammation, and other lasting health benefits.”

Switch4Good claims that “an increasing number of professional athletes are going dairy-free, claiming the lifestyle as their secret weapon to consistent, elite-level performance.”
