Wales Gets Its First Fully Vegan Supermarket
Wales’ first fully vegan supermarket has opened its doors in Llanelli.
Dubbed Kind Earth, the new store offers a wide range of vegan fare, including organic produce. It’s also a plastic-free zone, offering paper in place of plastic bags and packaging.

The shop was opened with the help of a start-up business grant of £4,435 from the Carmarthenshire County Council, which covered the cost of fridges, freezers, shelving, trollies, baskets, light fittings, and an EPOS system — support store owner Matt Rogerson was grateful to receive.
“I hope that between myself and my stakeholders we can make our local and global community a better place,” he said.
“The shop is not only a vegan supermarket where people can buy fresh good quality locally sourced grocery items but offers customers to get involved in initiatives and workshops to make us a healthier and more sustainable community.”
