Cruelty-Free Shampoo That Won’t Break The Bank

Have you used any of these cruelty-free shampoo brands?

Cutting animal products out of your diet is a fantastic way to help the animals, the planet, and our health. Most skin and hair products are not vegan, but by making sure we purchase ethically, such as buying vegan and cruelty-free products like shampoo, we are voting for a kinder planet.

There is plenty vegan and cruelty-free products out there, although most brands can be quite expensive, but not all kinds! I’ve compiled a list of vegan and cruelty-free shampoo that can be found pretty much anywhere and runs for $8.99 US or under, keep in mind that where you live and what store you shop at can make a difference in pricing.

Nature’s Gate Shampoo & Conditioner: has wonderful ethics and has a list on their website of great organizations that they have partnered and/or volunteered with. Their cruelty-free shampoo goes for around $4.99 US for 18 fl oz.

Desert Essence Shampoo & Conditioner: works to help girls in third world countries stay in school and continue their education. Their shampoo goes for around $8.99 US for 8 fl oz.

SheaMoisture Shampoo & Conditioner: a huge supporter of education and also has a list on their website of organizations and programs that they are a part of. Their shampoo goes for around $9.99 US for 13 fl oz.

Soapbox Shampoo & Conditioner: for each product purchased, they donate a bar of soap to someone in need, along with hygiene education. Their shampoo goes for around $5.99 US for 16 fl oz.

Jason Shampoo & Conditioner: coming from 3 generations of being owned by the same family, their main priority is purity and safety and they test on themselves, not animals. Their shampoo goes for around $8.99 US for 16 fl oz.

Kiss My Face Shampoo & Conditioner: partnered with a couple of great organizations, this company is working hard to help rescue dogs from cosmetic testing. Their shampoo goes for around $7.99 for 11 fl oz.

Every Man Jack Shampoo & Conditioner: made in the USA, this company works hard to use as much recycled material as possible, at least 50%. Their shampoo goes for around $7.99 for 13.5 fl oz.

Not only are these brands vegan, but they do not test their products on animals and also avoid using nasty chemicals and other unnecessary additives. These shampoos and conditioners come in various formulas, so there is a wide selection to choose from depending on your preferences and hair type. The added bonus is that not only are these brands helping the animals and the planet by being cruelty-free, but they are making their product widely available, affordable and are helping good causes. What is your favorite vegan cruelty-free shampoo?

I grew up on the West Coast of Canada and currently live in Northern California with my amazing husband and our beautiful vegan daughter. I love researching all of the amazing benefits that go hand in hand with being plant-based, so I was thrilled to find Raise Vegan and become an active writer for this inspiring team.
