Disney World Introduces New Vegan Menu Items

by | September 25, 2019

Starting in October, Disney theme parks across the US will be introducing a variety of plant-based items in its fast-food and table service restaurants.

According to the entertainment giant, the changes were prompted by guest feedback — an indication of the growing popularity of plant-based food.

Some of the proposed dishes will be themed, as many of the set menus are. For example, the Beauty and The Beast themed restaurant Be Our Guest will be adding an option dubbed Le Fou Festin. Another Orlando resort restaurant will be adding Tatooine Two Suns Hummus, a Star Wars-themed dish.

The new menu options will be rolling out to park locations in Orlando first. Anaheim is next in line, with the dishes anticipated to arrive in 2020. Disney will be adding a small green leaf logo to the menu to help those seeking vegan options easily identify them.

CNN reports that the Disney resorts in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Paris also have some vegan options, but that the expanded plant-based menu will be focused on locations in the US.
