Dunkin’ Sandwich Featuring Vegan Beyond Goes Nationwide Due To High Demand
After a successful limited release of the Beyond Meat Sausage Breakfast Sandwich, quick service-chain chain Dunkin’ will take the option nationwide next month.
Dunkin’ had originally intended to roll the plant-based sandwich out to stores across the US early next year. However, the company has fast-forwarded its plans given the success of the initial launch in Manhattan. This will mean more than 9,000 Dunkin’ stores will soon be serving the meat-free sandwich.
“Dunkin’ is truly an iconic brand and part of the fabric of so many communities” said Ethan Brown, Founder and CEO of Beyond Meat.
“Partnering with them as the first U.S. restaurant chain to serve Beyond Breakfast Sausage represents not only an exciting moment for both of our companies, but a big step forward in making plant-based meat accessible and easy to enjoy, even while on-the-go.”
Vegan Breakfast Sandwich
The breakfast sandwich reached double the expected sales figures in Manhattan. In fact, the Beyond Meat sandwich came second only to the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel, which has been a long-time favorite at Dunkin’.
The breakfast sandwich features a Beyond Meat sausage patty, an egg, and a slice of cheese on an English muffin — it can be made vegan by foregoing the egg and cheese.
