Lewis Hamilton Opens Up About Vegan Diet Health Benefits

Lewis Hamilton has opened up about the health benefits he has noticed since transitioning to a vegan diet.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Edge Malaysia, Hamilton shared how his health has improved since ditching animal products.

“I would wake up feeling groggy, have mood swings and my energy level would go up and down through the day” he said. “I always had stomach problems and a swollen belly and I thought it was normal.”

“I cannot put into words how much better I feel.”

Since embracing a plant-based diet in 2017, the Formula One champion has become an outspoken vegan advocate — for both the animals and the environment. He often shares pro-vegan messages online with his millions of fans and followers.

Hamilton has previously credited his plant-based diet with his recent success on the track.

“I’m looking at what I eat as fuel now as an athlete, rather than just eating because I’m hungry” he explained.

“For sure, it hasn’t been easy to learn new things and new ways, but I’ve felt so good for the last year and a half. It’s been such a great decision.”
