New Plant-Based Expo Planned For 2021 Featuring Option To Attend Virtually

by | May 27, 2020

A new plant-based expo has been announced for next year, with visitors able to join in online.

The Scout Plant-Based Expo — organized by marketing agency Scout 22 — is set to take place on September 18 2021 at the Paramount Studios Backlot in Hollywood.

In response to the threat of COVID-19, the expo is designed to be a more intimate event than would usually be expected. Additionally, the virtual component ensures that individuals and companies who can’t attend in person don’t miss out.

“Plant-Based Brands”

“I wanted to have a venue where emerging and existing plant-based brands can have a significant presence and sufficient time with retail buyers, distributors and investors—and vice versa” explained Lori Amos, co-founder of Scout 22, in an email to Raise Vegan.

“These mega expos we are now accustomed to are counter-productive—it is impossible to get quality time to make connections and it really is the brands that have the most money to spend (bigger, sexier booth) who are the ones that get noticed. We want to change that.”

Scout 22 will ensure that all vendors have the same booth size to ensure unfair advantages aren’t given to bigger brands.

“Our booths will be a single rate for everyone, no one will get a double wide or super-sized option no matter the size of the company so everyone is on a level playing field” said Jim Amos, co-founder of Scout 22, in an email to Raise Vegan.

“It’s 100% about boosting the plant-based community up—all boats rise vs. a race to the top for those companies with the most money.”
