Tamera Mowry Drinks Twin Sister’s Breast Milk for it’s “Healing Properties”
Tia, who gave birth last May, who was only too happy to help, posted a video on Instagram of her twin raving about her breastmilk. The video shows Tamera holding up a cup of her twin’s breast milk, claiming it was the best milk she’d ever tried in her whole life. Wathc the video here.
Of course, I went to the Instagram post to scan the comments. I expected to see a whole lot of ‘eww that’s gross’ or ‘that’s nasty,’ and while there were plenty of negative comments, I was pleasantly surprised to see lot’s of comments dogging people for being ‘ok with drinking animal milk, but breast milk is freaky.’

The Mowry twins aren’t the only celebrities to share their breast milk with each other for its medicinal purposes. I remember a few years ago on an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, Kourtney gave her sister Kim some of her breast milk to use on her psoriasis.
Is it a good idea to drink breast milk, I mean it’s probably not an awful idea, but I’m not sure it’s a good substitution for modern medicine. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or Food and Drug Administration haven’t said anything about whether it’s beneficial for adults to drink another woman’s breast milk. There is, however, the risk of getting a communicable disease such as HIV from someone’s breast milk, if they have it.
I’m not sure if I personally would drink breast milk at this adult stage of my life. Do you believe that breast milk has healing properties?
