Vegan Company Debuts Its Bacon And Beef At New Zealand "Carnivore Event"
Plant-based meat company Sunfed will debut its vegan bacon and beef products at this year’s Meatstock festival in New Zealand.
The festival — which is described as the country’s “biggest carnivore event” — is set to take place this weekend in Auckland.
“Empowering Meat Eaters”
“We chose Meatstock for our public launch of Sunfed Boar Free Bacon and Sunfed Bull Free Beef because we are serious about empowering meat eaters with new choices,” said Shama Sukul Lee, CEO and founder of Sunfed.
Although the company expects mixed reactions, the organizers are happy to have the plant-based company at the event.
“It’s exciting to have Sunfed debut it’s new products at Meatstock,” said Jay Beaumont, co-founder of the event.
“It’s about time we had a plant-based brand come and show us what they’ve got!”

Sunfed Vegan Food
The company is already known across New Zealand and Australia for its Chicken Free Chicken, which the brand claims has the “most minimalist ingredient deck on the global market.”
The Boar Free Bacon and Bull Free Beef are made with a yellow pee base, as is the Chicken Free Chicken.
“These products are game changers, a world first – try and find anything as good as this in the global market,” said Sukul Lee, “You can’t. New Zealanders know how to do protein.”
