During the holidays, all of the delicious food is tempting and it gets difficult to stick to your clean-eating regime. Although it’s important to enjoy these sweet treats without guilt, it’s just as important to make sure that you are able to ease back into your healthy routine. A simple detox is a great way to get your body back on track after the holidays. Detox water infusions have many benefits such as re-balancing your pH levels, reducing bloating, and improving complexion. With these three simple detox water recipes, you’ll be back to feeling your best in no time.

Lemon, Cucumber, and Ginger

This is detox water with a kick! Lemon is a great source of Vitamin C and it helps with overall digestion, cucumber is full of antioxidants and may aid in lowering blood sugar, and ginger can help provide relief for upset stomachs and even morning sickness. Prepare a pitcher of this detox water beforehand with a whole lemon cut into wedges (be sure to remove all seeds beforehand!), a thinly sliced whole cucumber and about an inch of peeled ginger.

Orange, Grapefruit, and Blueberry

The health benefits of fruit are unbeatable, and adding some into your water is a great way to soak up some extra vitamins. Oranges can strengthen your immune system and give you a kick of Vitamin C, grapefruit promotes a healthy heart, and blueberries are at the top of the list for antioxidant-enriched foods. Slice both the orange and grapefruit into Frisbee shapes and cut the blueberries in half for an Instagram-worthy energy-boost. My personal favorite of all detox water infusions. 

Watermelon, Strawberry, and Mint

With vitamins A, B6, and C, watermelon is a superfood that you won’t want to leave out of your detox. Strawberries not only taste amazing, but their high level of antioxidants and weight-management properties in conjunction with mint’s similar benefits to that of ginger will leave you ready to take on whatever the world throws at you. With watermelon (think of buying seedless) in cubes, strawberries in fourths or halves and a generous handful of freshly washed mint leaves, you’ll never grow bored of this fun combo.

 

For all detox water infusions, leave to steep overnight to maximize effects and flavor.
