Coronavirus Declared A Pandemic By World Health Organization
The coronavirus outbreak has today been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Speaking on behalf of WHO, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the number of reported cases has increased 13-fold in the last fortnight — adding that he is “deeply concerned.”
Dr Tedros is urging governments to take “urgent and aggressive action.”

What Is A Pandemic?
A pandemic is defined as the same disease affecting several countries at the same time.
“Several countries have demonstrated that this virus can be suppressed and controlled,” said Dr Tedros.
“The challenge for many countries who are now dealing with large clusters or community transmission is not whether they can do the same – it’s whether they will.”
