Lewis Hamilton Nurses Baby Kangaroos In Wake Of Australian Bushfires
The animal rights advocate has been in Australia participating in the rehabilitation of wildlife following the crisis.
“It’s Going To Take Years For Australia To Recover”
“I had the incredible opportunity to visit NSW, Australia to see the admirable work @WIRESWildlifeRescue is doing to care, rehabilitate and preserve the country’s native wildlife,” wrote Hamilton in an Instagram post.
“It was one of those days that really put things into perspective. Over one billion animals were impacted by the fires and it’s going to take years for Australia to recover.”
“It’s thanks to non-profits like WIRES, an organization I supported during the fires, that we have the resources to help preserve this beautiful country and its amazing wildlife.”

Fires ravaged large parts of the country for several months, with at least 33 human lives lost and many thousands of homes destroyed.
Experts estimate that the number of animals affected by the bushfires could be in the trillions, with no official figure released.
“We have little idea about the true damage they will cause or to the full extent of their ecological legacy,” said Professor Ben Garrod of the fires.
