The worlds first 24-hour vegan drive-thru is going to get 10 new locations across Canada.

Canada’s first vegan fast food chain, Globally Local, has become the worlds first 24-hour vegan drive-thru. The restaurant was started in London, Ontario, and serves up a huge range of delicious plant-based alternatives to the typical fast food staples, like burgers, chicken strips, breakfast sandwiches and even soft-serve ice cream with their coconut milk based version made in-house. The success of the restaurant has been so good that they chain are now planning on adding a further 10 locations tot their franchise.

In an interview with VegNews, Globally Local founder James McInnes said “We have greatly simplified the restaurant operation to the point where we feel that even those with little or no restaurant experience can easily operate a Globally Local franchise … We want to be a global contender in the fast-food world and we believe that by finding strong franchise partners, we can make this dream a reality.”

McInnes has plans to franchise up to 10 new locations in the next 12 months. They will begin their expansion in the Ontario area, before expanding their franchise south of the border and bringing their restaurant to various locations across other regions in North America. Maybe somewhere in the near future, there will be a Globally Local 24-hour vegan drive-thru in a region near you! With the rise of veganism as one of the biggest health movement in history, we sure hope so! After all, who doesn’t love some good vegan fast food?
