by | January 6, 2020

Retail giant Macy’s is now selling a selection of GUNAS award-winning vegan handbags.

Together, the two brands have released a number of GUNAS luxury vegan creations at Macy’s headquarters. The release comes in the wake of the chain’s commitment to go fur free by 2023 and amid increasing interest in vegan and animal-conscious fashion.

Ethical Fashion: “A Huge Step Forward”

The partnership was set in motion after the brand shone at the 2018 Independent Handbag Awards, where Macy’s awarded GUNAS founder Sugandh Agrawal the Best Independent Handbag Designer title. Agrawal then went on to attend Macy’s annual business workshop, where brand reps showed continued interest in her bags.

“The VP of Accessories, Holly White really loved the brand and the concept and agreed to launch with a small collection at the Macy’s headquarters on 34th street,” she said. “It’s a huge step forward for the ethical fashion movement and paves way for many other brands like mine to enter the market and be seen as a new form of luxury.”

Vegan Handbags: “A New Form Of Luxury”

According to the brand, each GUNAS handbag is ethically made in Korea using entirely vegan materials, with the intent to offer a product that is luxurious, fashionable and functional —

not to mention eco-conscious. GUNAS also works with a number of innovative leather alternatives, including Mulbtex, a plastic-free, paper-based leather alternative.

When it comes to the brand’s mission, the message is clear — “Love People. Love Animals. Love Planet ®.”

GUNAS boasts a wide variety of unique, vibrant and animal-conscious designs available at select retailers as well as online.
