Greta Thunberg Hits Back At Meat Loaf Over "Brainwashed" Comment

Greta Thunberg has responded on Twitter to claims made by Meat Loaf that she “has been brainwashed into thinking that there is climate change.”

Tweeting in her usual no-nonsense manner to her 3.9 million followers, Thunberg wrote “It’s not about Meatloaf. It’s not about me. It’s not about what some people call me. It’s not about left or right. It’s all about scientific facts. And that we’re not aware of the situation. Unless we start to focus everything on this, our targets will soon be out of reach.”

Thunberg shared a video with her tweet that explains how carbon emissions are rising each year.

Singer Meat Loaf — who recently said he would “do anything for our planet” — made the comment in an interview with UK tabloid the Daily Mail.

The teen climate activist was honored as TIME magazine’s Person of the Year in 2019 — an accolade that irritated fellow nominee US President Donald Trump.

In response to a Twitter thread recognising the TIME award, Trump wrote “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!”

Shortly after the president’s tweet, Thunberg changed her Twitter bio to read “A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”
