Is Starbucks About To Launch A New Vegan Menu?

by | December 19, 2019

Starbucks could be launching a new plant-based menu in time for Veganuary 2020.

Rumors of new vegan options headed for UK stores have been circulating online — with possible new options including chocolate and coconut flavor overnight oats, a chocolate and raspberry cake, and a jackfruit and cheese grain bowl.

Starbucks has been slowly adding more meat-free and dairy-free items — both to its drinks menu and food options.

Although the coffee chain is undoubtedly becoming more animal-friendly, a surcharge is still in effect for non-dairy milks.

Earlier this week PETA announced that it has bought shares in Starbucks in order to help fight the additional cost.

“Many coffee drinkers are lactose intolerant, and PETA is intolerant of cruelty to cows, which is why charging extra for soy and nut milks is hard to swallow” said Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA.

“PETA is heading to Starbucks’ boardroom to urge the company to end this unfair surcharge.”

This year’s editions include the Very Merry Vegan Wrap and Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate.

Over in the US and Canada, customers have been able to enjoy the new limited edition Irish Cream Cold Brew.
