Joaquin Phoenix Asks People To “Save Animals, Go Vegan” In New Ad Campaign

by | March 19, 2020

Vegan actor and animal welfare advocate Joaquin Phoenix has participated in a new campaign to encourage people to stop eating animals.

A number of billboards have been put up around Los Angeles, with Phoenix pictured asking people to “save animals, go vegan.”

The campaign was created by LA Animal Save and the Animal Alliance Network.

“Violence Against Animals”

“Our billboards and bench ads ARE UP,” shared LA Animal Save on Instagram.

“The timing isn’t great since the world is on lockdown (due to most people perpetuating an institution of violence against animals) but we can still make an impact by sharing on social media.”

The popular actor set the internet alight with his recent Oscar’s acceptance speech, in which he urged people to be kind to animals.

“I think at times we feel or are made to feel that we champion different causes,” Phoenix said.

“The Fight Against Injustice”

“But for me, I see commonality. I think, whether we’re talking about gender inequality or racism or queer rights or indigenous rights or animal rights, we’re talking about the fight against injustice.”

The week after his Oscar’s win, Phoenix was in California saving a baby cow and her mother from a slaughterhouse.
