Vegan Kat Von D Apologizes For Anti-Vax Instagram Post — "I Made A Mistake"

Vegan celebrity Kat Von D has apologized for an Instagram post she shared in which she said she would not be vaccinating her child.

Von D opened up about the incident from two years ago in a recent interview with LA Times.

“I’m Not An Anti-Vaxxer”

“I was six months pregnant at the time,” said Von D, “and I was still trying to figure out my birthing plan.”

“At the time, I made a completely thoughtless post on my Instagram on whether or not I would vaccinate my son.”

“But the truth is, I’m not an anti-vaxxer at all,” she added. “I just made a mistake, and I was completely uninformed. It was stupid, and I really shouldn’t have opened my big mouth on the subject.”

The new mom recently announced she would be stepping back from her vegan makeup brand — KatVonD Beauty — which will now be rebranded as KVD Vegan Beauty.

“I Wanted The Makeup Line To Continue To Thrive”

“It has become clear to me that I just can’t do everything at the maximum capacity,” said the star in an Instagram post earlier this year.

“It’s hard to admit this, since I’ve always said ‘You can do everything and anything.’ But I don’t think admitting one’s limits is a bad thing.”

“I’ve decided to sell my shares of the brand, turning it over to Kendo, my partners for the past 11 years.”

“This was not an easy decision, but after careful consideration, I decided I wanted the makeup line to continue to thrive and grow, and I believe Kendo is primed to do just that.”
