Kevin Smith Debuts Vegan Podcast With Tearjerking Post For His Daughter
Last month, filmmaker Kevin Smith announced the launch of a weekly vegan podcast, created in partnership with his daughter actor and muscian Harley Quinn Smith, last month.
The news was shared on Instagram, alongside a touching message for his partner in crime.
“One Of My Favorite People In The World”
“As a guy who has been recording podcasts since 2007 when you were just 8 years old, I’m glad I lived long enough to enjoy one of my favorite pastimes (podcasting) with one of my favorite people in the world (you),” the pop-culture icon wrote.
“When you asked me to co-host a plant-based podcast with you, you may have also mended my cholesterol-busted heart,” he added.
He finished the post by writing “Happy Birthday, Harley! I love you and everything you stand for!”

The Vegan Podcast
The father-daughter duo created the Vegan Abattoir podcast to bust myths about veganism with new episodes released every week on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Player FM.
Describing the podcast, Kevin said Harley and he “intend to slaughter misinformation and butcher bullsh*t about bein’ vegan in the least triggering, non-preachy way,” by having experts answer questions the audience asks.

Choosing Plants
In 2018, Smith suffered a near-fatal heart attack which prompted his daughter to push him to go vegan.
He has since lost over 50lbs and appears to be thriving on a plant-based diet.
The pair shared their perspectives on veganism in an interview with Mercy For Animals early last year, and regularly post on the topic today.
