Meat Industry Launches Meaty March In Response To Veganuary Success
Meat groups in the UK have teamed up to promote the health benefits of eating animals with the Meaty March campaign — just as the month long Februdairy initiative to promote dairy comes to an end.
Meaty March is supported by a number of meat industry groups, such as the Q Guild of Butchers and the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers (AIMS).
“Challenge The Negatives”
“Our focus is to challenge the negatives around meat consumption,” said Tony Goodger, a spokesperson for AIMS.
“We are tired of hearing broadcasters suggest that non-meat diets are healthier than balanced diets,” he added.
“Meaty March will provide the whole of the meat industry with an opportunity to promote the benefits of meat and poultry in the diet as well as to challenge the notion that plant-based diets are somehow better for a person’s health.”

Veganuary & Februdairy
Pledges to go vegan for January as part of the Veganuary campaign continue to rise year on year. 400,000 people signed up to go plant-based for a month this year, up from over 250,000 in 2019.
Februdairy was launched in 2018 to promote the dairy industry. Ever since the campaign started, vegans have claimed the hashtag to promote anti-dairy content on social media.
