Movies And Books With Good Messages For Kids

by | April 12, 2018

We are all well aware how impressionable our children can be, starting from an extremely young age. What our kids watch, read, see and hear us say makes a lasting impact. There are so many movies and books out there that either are blatantly obvious or send subliminal messages supporting animal cruelty, whether they show people eating meat, hunting, wearing fur, supporting backyard breeders and so on. So are there movies and books with good messages for kids?

It can be extremely difficult to vet each and every single piece of information that your child is absorbing, which is why I decided to put together this list of movies and books with good messages for kids. Hopefully this will help give you one less thing to worry about. Just be sure to double check that it is age appropriate for your child, as everyone has different views on what is appropriate or not for their kids and what they feel they are ready for.

Even when you don’t think your baby can understand what you’re saying just yet, it doesn’t hurt to pick up one of these books and start reading! By having these books with good messages for kids accessible to your child as they grow up, they will see veganism and kindness as the ‘norm’. Plus, if you’re lucky they’ll hand one of these books to your non-vegan friend or family member and ask them to read it, hopefully opening up their mind!

I grew up on the West Coast of Canada and currently live in Northern California with my amazing husband and our beautiful vegan daughter. I love researching all of the amazing benefits that go hand in hand with being plant based, so I was thrilled to find Raise Vegan and become an active writer for this inspiring team. When I’m not writing for Raise Vegan, you can find me on Instagram!
