Animal rights activist and actor Pamela Anderson has launched a new handbag collection made from vegan apple leather.

The animal-friendly handbags were created by the actor in collaboration with ASHOKA Paris — an ethical fashion brand.

“Working on this vegan bag project with Pamela, a global celebrity and committed activist, is an honor and a fabulous experience” said ASHOKA Paris.

“Behind the star we discovered an intelligent, approachable, sincere, and creative woman who is brimming with ideas and energy.”

Anderson’s new handbag collection features four different colors — nude, noir, terracotta, and rouge — with the word “Resiste” embossed on each of them. They are on sale starting at €230.

The apple leather used to create the handbags is made from apple peels in Italy. It is a plant-based alternative to traditional leather and is completely biodegradable.

Ethical brand ASHOKA Paris received the PETA Fashion Award for best bag in 2108 and 2019, and donates a portion of its profits to animal rights groups.
