Sweet Earth Foods Launches Plant-Based Burger Filled With Vegan Bacon

Vegetarian brand Sweet Earth Foods has launched a new vegan burger featuring a bacon filling.

The Awesome Bacon Burger patty is a blend of beef — made from yellow pea protein — and pieces of seitan-based bacon flavored with hickory smoke.

“We are so excited to announce the release of the Awesome Bacon Burger as the first-ever vegan bacon burger, proving eating plant-based can be just as delicious as it is nutritious,” said Jessica Vasish, vice president of Sweet Earth Foods.

“The combination of the Awesome Burger and our award-winning Benevolent Bacon brings together two of our fan-favorite products into one delicious option that is perfect for summer grilling.”

The burgers are on sale now at HEB stores in the US, with a nationwide rollout to other retailers coming soon.

The vegetarian company also launched two other new vegan products this week — the Green Chile Chedd’r Sausage and the Chik’n Apple Sausage.

The Green Chile Cedd’r Sausage is a blend of plant-based chedd’r, with habenero peppers, yellow peppers, and cilantro, and the Chik’n Apple Sausage features apples mixed with green onion and a selection of spices.
