“I could never be vegan! I love pizza way too much!”

Cue the eye-roll, as I’m this is something that I’m sure you’ve heard before. Vegan comfort food isn’t rare to come by these days and vegan Dominos in France is part of this movement.

With vegan options already in the United Kingdom and Australia, Domino’s has been expanding their horizons to allow people of all lifestyles to enjoy the comfort and convenience of a takeaway pizza.

In France, there are advertisements throughout about the launch of a new vegan peppina, a take on their classic vegetarian option that costs an extra two euros. After months of deliberating, I finally decided to give it a try. Spoiler alert: it was delicious.

Vegan Dominos in France

Vegan Dominos in France’s vegan peppina uses coconut-oil based “mozzarella” alongside their vegan-friendly crust, fresh tomato sauce and a colorful array of vegetables. On the website, Dominos also claim that their vegan cheese is kept exclusively among vegetables and that all employees have been taught proper handling techniques between vegan and non-vegan products. You can also see an FAQ section on the vegan dominos in France website, however, it is in French; about the vegan pizzas, where they claim that the goal is to “Gather everyone around [their] pizza’s, regardless of diet.”

Today, I decided to give it a try at my nearest vegan Domino’s in France, and ordered the vegan peppina, opting to switch out the black olives for pineapple. After fifteen minutes of excitedly waiting, I had the pizza in my hands and running back to my apartment as fast as I could

My first impression was that it was easy to tell that vegan cheese was used as it sometimes has the tendency to not “melt” fully like a dairy-cheese would, but nonetheless, it looked great

Choosing the largest slice, in an effort to go big or go home. I immediately noticed that the vegan cheese had a wonderful, full-bodied taste to it, comparable to Daiya. The thick crust, abundance of vegetables and savory cheese had me missing absolutely nothing. Even if it doesn’t look the prettiest, it sure tasted the best. Another plus was that the pizza survived the re-heat test, hours later. I recommend adding your favorite vegan sauce to top it all off for an even better experience, my favorite being sriracha.

Would I order it again? Without a doubt.

Do you know any other major chains that offer vegan pizza? or have you tried the vegan Dominos in France? Let me know in the comments below.
