Vegan Company Miyoko’s Creamery Pledges Solidarity To Black Lives Matter
Vegan cheese company Miyoko’s Creamery has pledged its support to Black Lives Matter, and to other groups fighting for racial equality.
Worldwide protests are currently taking place following the killing of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, by white police officers in Minnesota.
“Inherent Racism In Our Food System”
“Both of these are organizations on the forefront of creating a more just and compassionate social system” said Miyoko Schinner, founder and CEO of Miyoko’s.
“Veganism is not just about diet or animals, it is about larger social justice issues. There is inherent racism in our food system that disempowers people of color.”
“We need to all work together to create a food system that is compassionate and just for all people.”

Miyoko’s Creamery Calls For Support
The award-winning plant-based cheese company is calling on other businesses to show their support in tackling racism.
“We will be donating to organizations that support compassion, including the NAACP and Black Lives Matter” wrote Miyoko’s on Instagram.
“We call on other companies to join us on both fronts. #Compassion.”
