Aldi Releases Vegan Food Line

by | January 11, 2018

Aldi has most recently tapped into the high demand vegan market by releasing their Earth Grown vegan line and it has everyone buzzing about it.

Say what you want to say about Aldi, but you have to admit they’ve been stepping up their game lately. Through their fairly new Simply Nature brand, they provide an array of products with cleaner ingredients. Some locations also sell plant based milk, yogurt and ice cream.

The Earth Grown line includes meatless tenders, veggie burgers, vegan cheese shreds, sausage, and meatless balls. On their site they even add a statement to reassure vegans of their ingredients. “Our Promise: All our Earth Grown products are free from animal products, including meat, poultry and seafood, and our vegan items are also free from substances produced by animals – such as eggs, dairy, honey, gelatin and lanolin.”. The line is currently being released across the U.S. and will eventually go worldwide with positive feedback.

I was lucky enough to purchase a couple of their products for my transitioning hubby to test out. He enjoyed the tenders and said he would definitely eat them again. They were smaller than the Gardein tenders we usually buy but at half the price, I’m okay with it. I was happy to discover that the line also offers vegan cheese so of course I had to get a bag. The mozzarella cheese shreds had a cheesy smell to them and melted nicely on our chickenless parmesan dish. The hubby unfortunately was not a fan. His biggest qualm with it was the texture when melted but didn’t mind the taste. Again the price was unbeatable so I might play around with it and add it to different recipes. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the products.

I also want to add that at checkout I asked the cashier about the feedback from customer so far on their Earth Grown products. He said that no one has returned a product yet and has also noticed quite a bit of people going in specifically looking for them.

Aldi also prides themselves on their “Double Back Guarantee” where,” If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied with any product, we will gladly replace the product AND refund your money”. So, if for any reason you are wanting to try some of these new vegan products go for it.

Keep voting with your dollar and let the world know it’s time to go vegan!

Michelle Alvarado I began my vegan journey after becoming pregnant. I initially did it for my/ our health but quickly learned about the horrible treatment of animals that goes on and it turned into a bigger thing than myself. I currently live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband, son and shelter pup (she’s 11 but will always be a puppy in my eyes). I went to school for communications but pursued a career in early childhood education and was a preschool teacher for almost a decade. I owe my insight in child development to my hands on experience in the field and hope to utilize it to further the progress of future vegan generations. I am beyond grateful to have found Vegan Pregnancy and Parenting and Raise Vegan, not only for the platform that it has provided me to further the awareness of vegan family resources but for what I have personally gained from it by being a member and from knowing these wonderful women. I look forward to all the amazing things to come as we help pave the way and provide a haven of love an support for vegan families.
