Leonardo DiCaprio Asks For Vegan Meal Ahead Of Oscars After-Party
Actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio has requested a vegan meal ahead of time for the upcoming Academy Awards.
Although no food is served at the awards ceremony itself — which is more commonly known as the Oscars — attendees are invited to dine at the Governors Ball afterwards.
DiCaprio is said to have asked Wolfgang Puck — the celebrity chef in charge of the kitchen for the event — if he can have a totally plant-based meal.
The menu for the after-party will be “70 percent plant-based, and 30 percent vegetarian, fish, and meat.” All of the food “will be responsibly sourced and sustainably farmed.”
Puck recently created the all-vegan menu for the 2020 Screen Actor’s Guild — marking the first time the awards ceremony has ditched animal products.
“I did the SAG Awards and Leo DiCaprio said, ‘What can you give me, something vegan?'” said Puck, “We made a vegan pizza. He ate it so fast. He said, ‘Oh, can you bring another one?”… We’ll have it on deck on Sunday, for sure.”

Is Leonardo DiCaprio Vegan?
There has been much speculation over the years as to whether DiCaprio follows a plant-based diet or not — with no confirmation made yet.
The popular actor has spoken out many times against the impact of the meat industry on the planet, and was the executive producer for animal rights documentary Cowspiracy.
