Major Supermarket Launches Budget Vegan BBQ Range
Major supermarket Aldi has launched a low-cost vegan BBQ range in the UK.
The new Plant Menu selection features a number of plant-based meat alternatives, in addition to vegetable-based side dishes.
Customers can now enjoy two flavors of plant-based burgers — Peri Peri and Teriyaki — priced at £1.69 for a pack of two.
The budget supermarket has also introduced a potato salad side dish to the Plant Menu range, in addition to a vegan coleslaw.
The potato salad is a combination of diced potato with spring onions, chives, and egg-free mayonnaise. The coleslaw features shredded vegetables in egg-free mayonnaise. Both side dishes are on sale for 79p for 300g.

Aldi is known around the world for its budget-friendly products, and has been introducing more plant-based options over the last few years.
In 2019, the company debuted the Wonder Burger in Germany — a soy based patty made using beet extract to create a meat-like appearance.
The budget retailer also has a selection of plant-based products in other parts of Europe, as well as in the UK and US.
